The conference will be held in the auditorium Santa Apollonia in Via San Gallo 25 (see map on the side). The auditorium is part of the former monastic complex Santa Apollonia located in the heart of the city of Florence. The monastic complex was funded in 1339, and became property of the Italian government in 1866, during the short period when Florence was the capital of the Kingdom of Italy.
The city of Florence can be easily reached by flight using the local airport Amerigo Vespucci or the airport Galileo Galilei near the city of Pisa. From the former you can reach the train station Santa Maria Novella in about 20 min with the tram line T2, while from the latter you can reach Florence by bus or from the Pisa train station. The auditorium Santa Apollonia is 10 min walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station.
The workshop will be held in one of the most touristic location in Italy. Several hotels and other kind of accommodations can be found at walking distance from the conference venue. Although, since the September is high tourist season, we suggest to book in advance.
ATTENTION: Some of the participants have been contacted by someone, who offered to arrange the accommodation for the conference. We did not ask anyone to arrange the accommodation and did not give to anyone the E-mail addresses of the participants, so these offers are probably scam.
The social dinner will be held on Wednesday the 25th of September at 7:30 PM at the restaurant Mattacéna located in the city centre at walking distance from the conference venue. If you wish to join us for the dinner, please inform the registration desk.
