During the hands-on sessions on June 16-17, lunches will take place at Caffè Le Favole, within walking distance from the university campus.
During the workshop, we invite the participants to try the many bars, sandwich shops, piadinerias, and restaurants in the area. Piazza Aldrovandi (around the corner from the Museum of Music) hosts many such places.
Please keep in mind that lunches are not included in the conference fee.
The conference dinner (included in the registration fee) will take place at the Cantina Bentivoglio, in via Mascarella 4/b.
When it comes to food, Bologna offers a wide variety of options. Providing a complete list would be impossible, but here is a brief selection of places you might want to explore:
Sfoglia Rina (homemade pasta, there might be some waiting time as no booking is allowed)
La Salsamenteria (typical Bolognese cuisine)
Camera a Sud (small Bistrot, quite close to the conference location)
Da Zero (if you want to have a good pizza)
Feel free to ask local attendees for further suggestions!
What about plans after dinner??
Bologna's Cineteca is committed to the preservation and restoration of films. In Summer, it organizes a number of important international festivals with outdoor movies shown in the main square (Piazza Maggiore) or in other locations in town. Most of the movies are in their original language, and often free to watch. Check the program of the events here! Some of the movies are introduced by famous directors (e.g., Darren Aronowsky on Friday June 21 or Wim Wenders on Saturday and Sunday June 22-23).
