The conference takes place in the Mathematical Research and Conference Center in Będlewo near Poznań. The Center, which is a facility of the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Stefan Banach International Mathematical Center, is located at the border of a beautiful region of the National Park of Wielkopolska, among forests and lakes. The participants are accommodated in the conference hotel in Będlewo. The meals are served at the Będlewo Palace, which is a part of the Center.
The expected arrival day is Sunday, 21 July 2024 (afternoon/evening), and the departure day is Friday, 26 July 2024 (afternoon) or Saturday, 27 July 2024. The talks start on Monday (morning) and end on Friday (early afternoon).
The hotel reception is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The lecture rooms are equipped with computer projectors, overhead projectors and blackboards. There is a Wi-Fi internet connection available throughout the Center's buildings. You can use a reading room, computer rooms, leisure room (table tennis, billiard) and a bar. Note that the Center is located outside the city - for shopping or sightseeing you can go to Poznań (half an hour ride by taxi). However, there is a little shop located some 400 metres from the Center, where you can buy basic products.
The currency used in Poland is Polish Zloty (PLN), check the current rates. Please note that there are no ATMs in the Conference Center. Nevertheless, euros and US dollars, as well as credits cards, are accepted at the reception desk.
The Conference Center in Będlewo is located about 30 km south-west from the centre of the city of Poznań. In order to get to Będlewo you should first reach Poznań.
You can fly directly to Poznań Ławica International Airport from many European cities. The airport is well-connected with the main train station Poznań Główny, which is close to the city center, by public transport. The bus stops of the city line 159 are located right in front of the passenger terminal.
Alternatively, you can fly to Warsaw or Berlin and take a train to Poznań (3-3,5 hours from Warsaw or 3 hours from Berlin). The trains connecting Warsaw Chopin Airport and Warsaw Central Station (or Śródmieście Station) run every 20-25 minutes, you can also take a city bus line 175. You can find more info here. For train connections between Warsaw/Berlin and Poznań please consult the Polish Railways (PKP) webpage or the German Railways (DB) webpage. You can buy a ticket directly through these webpages using a credit card. You can also buy a ticket directly at the station. Please note that at the Warsaw Central Station you can use ticket machines, apart from the ticket office. Note also that the intercity trains require seat reservation and they can be crowded, especially in the afternoons, so it is advisable to buy a ticket in advance. Additionally, the earlier you buy your ticket, the better price offer you can get.
We will organise a conference bus that will collect participants from Poznań to the conference center in Będlewo. The bus will depart on Sunday (21 July 2024) at 18:20 (we will wait for the train arriving at 18:15) from Poznań Główny railway station. For the exact location of the bus stop please check the map underneath. If you would like to take a taxi on your own, we advise you to call the Conference Center office, number (+48) 61 813 51 87 or (+48) 61 669 83 11 and they will arrange a taxi for you. The cost of the taxi from Poznań (both the train station and the airport) to Będlewo is around 180 PLN (approx. 40 EUR).
