Update about the Client Assistance Program!!
It is with great sadness that we announce that, as of July 2025, Woodmere SUN will not receive any additional resources to assist with utilities and gift cards. Going forward, we will continue our weekly food backpack program as donations allow and will share external resources as they become available. If you have urgent concerns, please feel free to reach out to SUN; however, we may not be able to provide the support you rightfully deserve. We understand how significant our assistance has been for all of you, and we sincerely hope to express our appreciation and support in other meaningful ways.

Hi all,
We know that child food insecurity in Oregon spikes in the summer months when few students have access to school meals. Summer EBT, a federally funded $120 grocery benefit is a small but meaningful basic needs program that Oregon students may be eligible for, and benefits are first issued this Thursday, May 22nd!
I'm sharing some of the best resources from our state agencies and local and national partners in order to learn more about Summer EBT and ensure every eligible child gets their benefit.
What to know about Summer EBT:
More than 350,000 students in Oregon are expected to receive $120 in grocery benefits this coming summer!
Most qualifying students will automatically receive these benefits because they are enrolled in SNAP, TANF, or other programs
Summer EBT does not affect immigration status. The public charge rule does not apply to Summer EBT benefits. Also, the Summer EBT program does not ask for immigration status and does not use immigration status to determine eligibility.
