Friendly Reminders
Please label all clothing and other items your child will bring to the community. Many of the children have the same or similar items in the same sizes- making it very difficult for them to be returned if they are accidentally misplaced or sent to the wrong home. Please only bring clothes that you do not care deeply about and don’t mind if it becomes soiled. Your child’s clothing should also be clothing that is easy for a child to get on and off independently, please do not send clothing with lots of buttons, buckles and laces, etc.
Lunch
You will need to provide your child with a healthy and nutritious meal. Please pack it in an appropriate container to maintain the temperature you would like it served. We do not heat up lunches for the children. The school provides water, milk and a nut-free milk if need be. We are a nut-conscious school, so please do not send in anything containing nuts. Please familiarize yourself with the Georgia Bright from the Start regulations on what children under three can bring for lunch (for example, hot dogs and grapes must be cut as they are considered a choking hazard) to consume in a school setting. The children will prepare their lunches in the classroom on Thursdays and Fridays and Parents have the option to order Pizza from the Elementary community on Wednesdays.
Family of the Week
Each family shares the responsibility of being family of the week. As the Family of the Week, your responsibilities will vary but you will receive information on which responsibilities you will have once it’s your turn. If you are unable to participate during your scheduled time please let your teacher know so that it can be changed to another time. The family of the week responsibilities are as follows:
A small bouquet of fresh flowers on Monday morning
A serving of a special snack (I. E. fruit or vegetable) or a copy of a favorite book (optional)
Make minor repairs to materials as needed
Purchasing special requests such as baking materials and or fruits and vegetables and ingredients for preparing lunches.
Thank you so much for your support.
