Curricular Choirs
Joyful Sounds: Grades K-3
Joyful Sounds is the curricular choir for the Kindergarten - 3rd Grade students in our school. This ensemble is directed by Mr. Scheiderer. This choir meets on Fridays during the school day and will sing in various church services and in the Christmas & Spring Concerts.
Chapel Choir: Grades 4-5
Chapel Choir is the curricular choir for the 4th & 5th Grade students in our school. This ensemble is directed by Mr. Scheiderer. This choir meets during the school day and will sing in various church services, chapel services and in the Christmas & Spring Concerts.
Performing Arts Choir: Grades 6-8
Performing Arts Choir is the curricular choir for the 6th - 8th Grade students in our school. This ensemble is directed by Mr. Scheiderer. This choir meets during the school day and will sing in various church services, chapel services and in the Christmas & Spring Concerts. Students are also expected to put together a 60-90 minute musical in March.
Extracurricular Choirs
Church Choir (Banana): Grades K-4
The "banana" choir rehearses Wednesdays from 3:15 - 4:00 PM. Students in this ensemble will sing exclusively at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Students will meet at the school office. We will have a snack until 3:30 PM and then rehearse for 30 minutes. This ensemble will sing for the annual Christmas Cantata as well as Holy Week & Easter among other dates.
Church Choir: Grades 5-8
The 5th - 8th Grade church choir will meet on Tuesday Mornings at 7:30 AM. We will meet in the church basement under the organ. This church ensemble will focus more on independent note reading skills and a great deal of their singing will be with the church's Adult Choir. Student's in this ensemble will work on developing skills that will allow them to effectively sing SATB music.
Circle the State (Honors): Grades 4-8
The Circle the State choir will meet on Friday mornings at 7:30 AM. We will meet in the school choir room. This choir will focus on the Circle the State Festival that will meet all day on Saturday with a concert to conclude the day at Southside Elementary in Columbus, IN. An accomplished clinician will lead the day for the kids as we spend the early year preparing for this day. There is a cost of about $30.00 to participate in this ensemble.
