Faculty may encourage students to post a video post. Please read the requirements for the forum carefully before preparing your video.
Students can create a video using the Moodle function shown in the image to the right. Videos should be 2-3 minutes in length and remember to turn your camera on for the post.
Step One: Add a new post and add a subject
Step Two: Click on the down arrow to open the 2nd line of Moodle functions.
Step Three: Click on the video icon and follow the steps to record your video.
Step Four: Click post to forum and your video will appear.
Compose your responses in a word processing program such as Word first; save this file to your computer or USB flash drive. Copy and paste the text into the message area of the Discussion Board. Should there be an interruption in your Internet connection, you will not lose any work. Only if required by the instructor should the Word document be uploaded into the forum.
Compose your script in a word processing program such as Word before beginning the recording. Use this script when creating your recording to ensure no major points are omitted. For video responses less than 5 minutes in length, please use these Moodle embedded video instructions above. For assignments requiring greater than 5 minutes, students should utilize the IU Moodle Multi-Recorder Tool.
