Course Description:
US History from colonialization to 1914. Students will be assessed by classwork, tests, quizzes, projects, homework, discussions, participation, and writing assignments.
Assignments, homework, related resources, and samples will be posted at the website. This is the link to bookmark to keep track of what is happening in, and out, of class, including due dates and most assignments!

In addition to the text, supplementary resources will be implemented to broaden the students’ depth of understanding.
Grading policy and practices/extended opportunities: Each six week grading period will be based on the content standards and assessed by means of classwork, tests, quizzes, projects, homework, discussions, participation, and writing assignments.
Standard Points based grading:
A 100-90 %
B 89-80 %
C 79-70 %
D 69-60 %
F 59-0 %
Attendance/make-ups/tardy: Students are responsible for all missed work, and must turn it in within two days after returning from an absence. Make-up tests are arranged with the instructor. Be in assigned seat ready to work before the tardy bell rings.
Assignment / Homework goals/expectations: Homework activities are generally focused on the extension of activities / content learned within the classroom and projects.
Late Work Policy:
Late work is any work that is turned in after the period /time that it is due. Late work can be submitted up to one week after the end of each unit. When absent on an assignment due date, students are expected to submit their work on the day they return to receive full credit. If absent on the day an assignment is given, an additional day will be added to the deadline if needed. Students are responsible for ensuring that they get any assignments missed if they are absent, and for knowing when it is due. Assignments are posted daily on the teacher’s class page which is accessible through www.iMiddle.org.
Classroom behavior standards and consequences: The classroom is to be a positive learning environment at all times. Positive consequences include praise from the teacher and classmates, excellent citizenship grade, as well as parents being contacted about good/improving behavior.
