Chairperson: To represent and lead the group/committee, ensuring that the aims and objectives of the Institution are achieved and to support the needs of the local membership and engineering community. The Chairperson is responsible for planning, supervising and executing the program and activities of the committee. The Chairperson shall preside at all meetings and is ex-officio a member of all committees.
Vice-Chairperson: In the absence of the Chairperson, the duties of the Chairperson shall be performed by the Vice-Chairperson. If the office of the Chairperson becomes vacant, the Vice-Chairperson shall succeed him.
Honorary Secretary: The Honorary Secretary has many important roles to play on the committee such as the organisation of monthly ordinary committee meetings, nomination meetings, and the Annual General Meeting.
Honorary Treasurer: The Treasurer shall have charges of the records and accounts of the committee and the collection and disbursement of funds. He shall be responsible for locating and contacting sponsors to raise funds.
Media Officer: The Communications Officer is responsible for the dissemination of information. The Media Officer is responsible for updating the social media accounts and ensuring that all publicity and information to members are available.
Web-master: The Web-Master is responsible for all media under operation by the society. The Web-Master shall be responsible for updating and maintaining the committee website.
Liaison Officers: IMechE’s representatives within academia and industry. They are there to act as a first point of contact for students and colleagues who are IMechE members, wish to become members or just want some information about the Institution.

Candidates running for Chair or Vice-Chair are expected to deliver a 5-minute speech (a powerpoint presentation is also acceptable), while for all the other positions a 2-minute speech will suffice.
