The data can also be modelled and simulated in order to solve problems and test alternative hypothesis. Using the basic data science steps of data manipulation, visualization and machine learning, one can gain insights from the patterns and trends discovered within a dataset.
- Learn how to create publishable graphics: R has numerous built in graphic functions to facilitate the visualization of trends within a dataset. These graphics can be linked to the data to provide quick updates and highlight changing trends. The dataset can also will also be published on interactive webpages to encourage others to explore datasets for themselves.
- Learn how to use an electronic research notebook. RStudio allows researchers to take notes while gathering and analyzing data. The mark down editor allows researchers to record and illustrate data, processes, graphics and information in a format that resembles Methodology, Results and Discussion sections of professional papers. Having all s of these sections together facilitates the development, sharing and publishing of research.
- Learn to use R without tears: Through the use of interactive research notebook files, participants will have examples of running code that they can use in their own projects. The course provides hands-on examples, sample datasets and Thai and English speaking tutors to ensure that all participants are able to harness the power of this software without having to memorize syntax.
