CV

Basic Information

I obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California at Santa Cruz (UCSC) in 2006, I also have a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mathematics from the Universidad de la República, Uruguay. I was a CNPq Junior Postdoc at IMPA between 2006 and 2008.

I am currently an Associate Professor at the Departamento de Matemática Aplicada, in the Instituto de Matemática at UFRJ, where I have been since 2008. I was Vice Chair (2016 - 2018) and Chair of Graduate Studies (2018 - 2020).

I work in Analysis of Partial Differential Equations of Fluid Mechanics. More specifically, most of my research concerns the study of decay and long time behaviour of solutions to dissipative equations. Recently, I started working on different aspects of some dispersive equations. In the past, my research concerned topological entropy and existence of periodic orbits of Hamiltonian Dynamical Systems.

My current work is partially funded by CAPES and FAPERJ.

Sooner than later, there will be a non Lattes CV here.
