DO YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS YOU HAVE?
Log onto Skyward.
Click the Student Info tab on the left.
At the top, right side of the page you should see your number of hours underneath your Graduation Year.
According to the IL Texas Student Handbook, community service is a graduation requirement. The expectation is 15 hours of community service per year that a student has attended an IL Texas High School. For example, if you started 9th grade with IL Texas you will have 60 hours by the time you graduate.
Community Service Opportunities are solely the responsibility of the student and family. However, as a courtesy, whenever I come across opportunities I will post here, via Skyward, and/or email parents and students.
To get credit for the service hours obtained, students must turn in a completed service hour log to me so that I can enter the hours into Skyward. The logs are located in the following places: Mrs. Carter's door (in the library), in the Leadership classrooms, and in the GLA classrooms. You can also access the log at the bottom of this page.
If you have a volunteer opportunity that you want to share, please email me at acarter2@iltexas.org so that I can add it here.
