Vera Csorvasi, Ed.D.

Dr. Veronica Iulia Csorvasi has been serving ILTexas since 2017. She is certified in Secondary English Language Arts and Reading (Grades 6–12) and English as a Second Language (EC–12) and holds a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in ESL. As an educator and instructional leader, she has taught and supported English language learners in both European and United States educational settings for over 20 years, bringing a global perspective and firsthand understanding of multilingual learners. Her talent and skill is to strengthen bilingual and ESL programs, support teachers through meaningful instructional practices and ensure the academic success of emergent bilingual students. Dr. Csorvasi worked as an ESL teacher, ESL specialist, and Bilingual/ESL Director in the past. She is passionate about empowering educators, advocating for multilingual learners, and creating opportunities for all students to thrive.

Dr. Lisa Cortés has proudly served ILTexas since 2016. She holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership and brings 18 years of experience in education. Throughout her career, she has taught students at every level, from kindergarten through college, in both Puerto Rico and the United States. Dr. Cortés talent is supporting the academic success of emergent bilingual students through instructional leadership, educator coaching practices. Prior to her current role, she served as an instructional coach, where she partnered with teachers to strengthen instructional practices and improve student outcomes. She is about ensuring emergent bilingual students thrive academically, Dr. Cortés is committed to empowering educators and fostering equitable learning opportunities for all students. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys traveling and shopping.

Joseph Holt has been serving ILTexas since 2024. He is certified in 7–12 English Language Arts, K–12 ESL and holds a Principal Certification. As an Assistant Principal, he worked with students in grades 6, 7, 8, and 12 for several years across Northwest ISD, High Point Academy and Trinity Basin Preparatory. His talent and skill is the ability to listen intently, communicate effectively, and make sense of complex ideas. Joseph previously served as an Assistant Principal and classroom educator. He is passionate about reading, writing, poetry, and spending time with his wife, as well as bowling, rock climbing, and coffee.

Kathryn Funke has been serving ILTexas since 2025. She is certified in Generalist EC–6, ELAR 7–12, Special Education K–12, and ESL K–12. As a teacher, she has worked with students from elementary through high school, as well as university freshmen and sophomores, for many years. Her talent and skill are building trusting relationships, supporting teachers and administrators through LPAC processes, and making complex systems simple and manageable. Kathryn worked as an ESL Specialist, teaching coach, inclusion support specialist, TELPAS testing coordinator, LPAC/ARD representative, classroom teacher, and university writing instructor in the past. She is passionate about sharing the love of Christ while spreading kindness, compassion, and creating meaningful connections that help students and educators thrive.

Forrest Livings has been serving ILTexas since 2026. He is certified in EC–4 Generalist, 7–12 English, ESL, and PK–12 ESL. As a Reading Language Arts teacher, he taught and served as an LPAC Chair, AP English teacher, Gifted and Talented instructor, and soccer coach for 15 years with Richardson ISD. His talent and skill are building strong relationships with students, supporting Emergent Bilingual learners, and leading through collaboration and effective communication. Forrest worked in corporate executive management as a Director of Logistics and Director of Safety before entering education. He is passionate about his family, reading, building projects, and soccer. .

Noemi was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico . This year Noemi’s 6th year with ILTexas. As the Tarrant area LPAC clerk, Noemi works to identify emergent bilingual students from Pre-K through 12th grade. She also compiles data and uses such data to prepare LPAC forms. In addition, she also supports with administering the OLPT Test in English and Spanish to identify potential Emergent Bilingual students.

Verónica was born in Chicago, Il. Then, she moved to Matehuala, San Luis Potosí where she obtained her Associates Degree in Licenciatura en Relaciones Industriales at the Tecnológico de Matehuala. Verónica has been with ILTexas since 2017. She started as an Instructional Aide for 3rd grade, then moved to the Special Education Dept. and currently is an LPAC Clerk. Her role is to identify students from Pre-K through 12th grade that will either enter, remain or exit a Bilingual program based on specific criteria. Verónica compiles all assessment, documentation and classification data for Bilingual/ESL students in the Dallas Area. In addition, she provides clerical support to LPAC Coordinators. She also assists in administering the LAS testing to identify any Emergent Bilingual students.

Yarabi Valenzuela has been serving ILTexas since 2021. In the past, she has supported both campus and district operations for 5 years. Her talent and skill is being highly organized and detail-oriented ensuring accurate records and efficient processes. Yarabi worked as an Assistant District Registrar in Tarrant in the past. She is passionate about helping and supporting those around her.

As a teacher, she worked with PK, Kindergarten and ESL students in grades K–5 for 5 years. Her talent and skill is to inspire others through her excitement, patience, and knowledge. Fredy Ramírez has been serving ILTexas since 2025. He is certified in Bilingual Education and holds a Principal Certification (EC–12). As a teacher and principal, he has worked in both international schools in Nicaragua and Houston ISD, serving students in grades 4, 8, and 9–12. His talent and skill is leveraging instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning. Fredy worked as an instructional leader in the past. Edgardo Figueroa has been serving ILTexas since 2016. He is certified in English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR), Bilingual Education and Principal Certificate. As a teacher and campus leader, he has taught and worked with both middle and high school students for over 15 years in Puerto Rico and Houston. His talent and skill is to build inclusive learning environments, develop meaningful relationships, and empower students and educators through servant leadership, collaboration, and continuous growth.

Aislinn Thomasson-Windle has been serving ILTexas since 2023. She is certified in EC–8 Generalist, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Special Education EC–12. Aislinn has worked as a Growth Coach, Instructional Coach, Classroom Teacher, and Reading Specialist, serving Early Childhood through Third Grade students. Her talent and skill lie in building trusting relationships, instructional coaching, using data-driven decision making, facilitating collaborative planning and professional learning, and supporting multilingual learners through strengths-based feedback. Aislinn previously worked with Engage2Learn, Clear Creek ISD, Pasadena ISD, and Stafford MSD. She is passionate about helping others grow, building meaningful relationships, lifelong learning, traveling, enjoying live music, and creating memorable experiences with family and friends.

Saira Escalante has been serving ILTexas since 2023. As an LPAC Clerk, she supports the identification and placement of students in language programs. Her talent and skill is showing up on time, meeting deadlines, and doing what she says she will do so others can trust her work while always being a team player. Saira worked in the oil industry before joining ILTexas. She is passionate about spending time with her family and friends, creating lasting memories with the people who matter most.

L. Danae González Zepeda is the LPAC Clerk at ILTexas, having joined the charter in 2022. She was part of the initial team that helped open BG Ramirez K-8, the first ILTexas school in Liberty County. Danae has gained experience in various clerical roles and specializes in administrative support, particularly with computer-based tasks. She is driven by a strong desire to help and support others and enjoys learning from those around her. Outside of work, Danae is a proud mother to her 9-year-old son and spends most of her free time enjoying life with her family. She also has a deep curiosity for exploring new software and is always seeking ways to expand her knowledge and skills through technology.

María Saldivar has been serving ILTexas since 2020. María has also worked as an Instructional Aide, Receptionist, and Attendance Clerk over the past six years. Her talent and skill are in team collaboration, data analysis, progress monitoring, LPAC compliance and documentation, and team leadership. María has also supported students in Kindergarten and 2nd Grade. She is passionate about building meaningful relationships, supporting those around her, and continuously learning and growing both personally and professionally.
