Adriana Fletes has dedicated her life to providing quality educational experiences for educators, students, families, and her community. She has over 24 years of experience as an educator, school- and district-level administrator, and K-12 educational leadership experience in advanced academics, curriculum, instruction and assessment, and multilingual and multicultural engagement. Ms. Fletes has served as the Director of Dual Language Immersion Implementation & Secondary Spanish for the International Leadership of Texas Charter School District since 2015. She is an Adjunct Professor at Texas Woman's University, and Scoring Leader for the AP Spanish Language & Culture Exam (Educational Testing Services). She serves as the Parliamentarian for B.E.A.M. (Bilingual/E.S.L. Education Association of the DFW Metroplex), Southwest Regional Representative for N.A.D.S.F.L. (National Association of District Supervisors for Foreign Language), and various educational and community boards.
As a child, Ms. Fletes immigrated to the United States and has first-hand knowledge of the opportunities that learning a new language and reaching for high academic achievement can mean for a student. As a product of Dual Language and E.S.L. programs, she attributes much of her success to the foundation that her parents established at home and the dedicated and talented educators who encouraged, empowered, and mentored her over the years. Adriana has a Bachelor's from Texas Tech University in Spanish with a Minor in Latin American Studies, a Master's from Walden University in Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, and additional graduate-level studies in Early Literacy from Southern Methodist University. She has presented at various National and International conferences and uses her gift to serve her community. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Candida has been serving ILTexas since 2018. She is from Cuba and has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Communication and a Master's Degree in Education, majoring in Digital Learning from Lamar University in Texas. As a teacher, she has taught Spanish language and literature in Cuba, Ecuador, and the US in different grades. Candida taught LOTE Spanish Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced language levels as a founding teacher stationed in Orem K-8. She is passionate about giving students choices, opportunities, and ownership while they enjoy learning the Spanish language and discovering Hispanic culture and traditions. Supporting the teachers and students while sharing instructional approaches, her passion for education, and her teamwork skills are goals she pursues in the Spanish LOTE team.
Yamilet Martinez Cruz is a passionate dual language teacher who has been serving ILTexas since its opening in the Houston area in 2016. She's from Cuba where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree on Education majoring in English, she also holds a Master's Degree in Science of Education. The State of Texas it’s been her home for the past nine years. Mrs. Cruz is certified in Bilingual Generalist-Spanish EC-6 and has taught different grade levels since the start of her education career back in 1995. Mrs. Cruz believes that maintaining a high level of motivation in a language classroom is one of the best ways to make the whole learning process more efficient. She is certain that while students have their own reasons to learn a language, teachers play an important role in helping the learners sustain and build on their motivation.
