Throughout the workshop, we plan to have sessions where participants share interesting bits of mathematics with each other in groups of varying sizes. In order to help these sessions run smoothly, we suggest that attendees think about the following prompts in advance and informally prepare responses to some subset of them.Â
Please consider bringing brief (2-5 minutes, no slides) descriptions of the following:
an approachable open problem
a "hopeless" open problem
an illustrative example
an interesting counterexample
a classical result
a favorite theorem
one of your own theorems
a significant definition
a useful exercise
a "cold topic" not currently receiving much attention
a mathematical tidbit falling outside the above categories
If you have any questions about the workshop format, please don't hesitate to email the organizers!
