Haeryun Kim

Hello, I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 

My research examines the nature and impacts of K-12 education policies, particularly school finance and teacher labor markets, and how they vary across contexts. I am especially interested in identifying policy features that either hinder or advance equitable allocation of financial and human resources. By doing so, I aim to inform school funding and personnel policies that translate meaningfully into desired educational outcomes through an equity lens. I use quantitative methods, including causal inference, and employ an economic and political perspective to explore these topics.
