Through the Premise Alert Program, residents can inform local police and fire departments if they or a family member require special assistance or treatment in an at-home emergency. This can be a lifesaver for individuals with autism, Alzheimerβs, or for individuals with visual or physical impairments.
American Sign Language (ASL) Videos: Together We Prepare
The Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission created a series of videos presenting preparedness information in American Sign Language. Videos include information on planning for emergencies including sheltering, evacuation, severe weather, and more.
