"I wanted to find out if sourdough starter would live a whole week without food (flour and water) depending on whether it was in the fridge or on the counter.
I predicted that the one in the fridge would live longer.
I put 1/8th of a cup of sourdough starter in two glasses and put one in the fridge and one on the counter, each covered with a paper towel and a rubber band. I checked on them every day at noon and kept a log. At the end of seven days, it looked like the fridge starter was still kind of jiggly and light yellow (alive but hungry). The counter starter was dried out and dark yellow (dead or close to dead).
I learned that doing science experiments is fun. I want to do a longer experiment next time!"
