Do your students want to compete in the science exposition? Not sure where to start? You have come to the right place!
Policy and Procedure Manual
The manual includes helpful information regarding student projects, simple how-to tutorials, preparation for the exposition, and safety regulations.
Registration
To begin, individual schools pay a registration fee. They submit a registration form to the state organization and their regional branch. Yes, even if you are a home school. Students competing with schools that only register with their regional exposition cannot participate at the state level.

Please be sure to register your students for the regional competition and fill out the spreadsheet that your regional chair sent to you.
Be sure to talk to your regional chair to learn if there are fees associated with the regional competition. To be part of the regional competition, all schools must be members of the IJAS. Membership is now $100 and will increase to $250 on February 1, 2023.
How- To- Videos
The How-To-Videos are 5-10 minute videos explaining each aspect of a student's science paper and teaching students the correct way to write them depending on the type of experiment.
Please direct the students to the videos by going to the students tab and then clicking resources.

Roles of the Sponsor
Each school will need a dedicated Sponsor. Sponsors are responsible for registering their school with the regional science expositions and attending meetings.
Each region has a different registration and fee structure. Click here to find the information for your regional chair who can answer further questions.
Your regional chair is also your point of contact regarding the state exposition.
Sponsors are also responsible for reading the important documents, aiding their students in preparation for the exposition and keeping track of deadlines.
Be sure to read the Policy and Procedure Manual thoroughly. Many common questions can be answered by this document.
Do not hesitate to reach out to your region’s chair with additional questions.
Encourage your students to enter the contests, scholarships, and student board applications.
