Shri. Anindya Saha, CTO Saankhya Labs Pvt. Ltd.

Anindya Saha is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Saankhya Labs with approximately 27+ Years of experience. He has a master’s degree in electrical communication from IISC, Bangalore, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Communication Engg from IIT-BHU, Varanasi. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and participates in TSDSI, O-RAN, and 3GPP standardization activities. Anindya is currently the Chair of IEEE Communication Society, Bangalore Chapter. He holds 30+ approved US and India patents related to Wireless Radios, RF/Baseband design, VLIW CPU architectures, and SDR Platforms. He has authored several IEEE publications and co-authored a chapter titled “IEEE 802.22/802.22.3 Cognitive Radio Standards: Theory to Implementation” in the Handbook of Cognitive Radio, published by Springer.

Prof. Neelesh B Mehta, Professor, IISc Bangalore

Neelesh B. Mehta is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. His research group focuses on the design, modeling, analysis, and optimization of wireless communication systems. He received his B. Tech. degree from IIT Madras in 1996 and his Masters’ and Ph.D. degrees from the California Institute of Technology, USA in 1997 and 2001. Until 2007, he worked in the USA as a research scientist at AT&T Research Labs, Broadcom Corp., and Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs.

He is a Fellow of the IEEE, Indian National Science Academy (INSA), Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), and National Academy of Sciences India (NASI). He is a recipient of the G. D. Birla Award, IIT Roorkee’s Khosla National Award in Engineering, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award, Vikram Sarabhai Research Award, DST-Swarnajayanti Fellowship, and NASI-Scopus Young Scientist Award.  He is a member secretary of the IEEE ComSoc Nominations and Elections committee. He served on the Executive Editorial Committee of the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications during 2014-17 and was its Chair during 2017-18. He served on its Steering Committee during 2019-2022, and was its Chair during 2021-2022. He also served on the Board of Governors of the IEEE Communications Society from 2012-15. He has served as an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Communications, and IEEE Wireless Communications Letters.

Prof. Navin Kashyap, Professor, IISc Bangalore

Navin Kashyap received a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, an M.S. in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering: Systems from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. After a two-year postdoctoral stint at the University of California, San Diego, he joined the faculty of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, where he remained till December 2010. Thereafter, he has been with the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, where he is currently a Professor. His research interests lie primarily in the application of combinatorial and probabilistic methods in information and coding theory.


Prof. Kashyap is a recipient of the Swarnajayanti Fellowship awarded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He was appointed as a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Information Theory Society for 2017-2018. He is at present an Associate Editor for the SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics, and for the Springer journal Cryptography and Communications.

Lt. Gen. Anil Kapoor, Professor of Practice, IIT Tirupati

Lt Gen  Dr Anil Kapoor, AVSM, VSM superannuated as Director General Electronics and Mechanical Engineering on 31 Dec 2020. He was also the Director General Info Systems . The General is a Gold Medalist both in B Tech (Electronics) and Master of Engineering (Mechanical), M Sc in Defence Studies, M Phil in Strategic Management of Technology, Ph D in Management. He is an expert in Geospatial Technologies, Radars, Guided Missiles, MRO, Asset Management, Disruptive Emerging Technologies, Data Science and Design Thinking.  The General has been on two UN Peacekeeping Assignments as Senior Logistics Officer in Angola and Deputy Chief Integrated Support Services in Sudan on deputation to UN for two years, managed operational logistics in J & K  Operation Vijay during the  Kargil war, Operation Parakram and Operation Snow Leopard in Eastern Ladakh in 2020. He was  awarded  the Eminent Engineer Award 2020 on 15 Sep 2020 by Institution of Engineers, India for outstanding professional contributions in engineering and displaying technical brilliance. He is a Chartered Engineer, qualified Master Class Independent Director, Board Member Hub Governing Council & Professor of Practice at IIT Tirupati and Chairman, National Advisory Committee, Asset Management Society India.

Dr. Nikolaos Pappas, Associate Professor, Linkoping University, Sweden

Nikolaos Pappas (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in computer science, the B.Sc. degree in mathematics, the M.Sc. degree in computer science, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Crete, Greece, in 2005, 2012, 2007, and 2012, respectively. From 2005 to 2012, he was a Graduate Research Assistant with the Telecommunications and Networks Laboratory, Institute of Computer Science, FORTH, Heraklion, Greece, and a Visiting Scholar with the Institute of Systems Research, University of Maryland at College Park, College Park, MD, USA. From 2012 to 2014, he was a postdoctoral Researcher with the Department of Telecommunications, CentraleSupélec, Gif-sur-Yvette, France. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Computer and Information Science, Linköping University, Linköping, Sweden. His main research interests include the field of wireless communication networks with an emphasis on semantics-aware communications, energy harvesting networks, network-level cooperation, age of information, and stochastic geometry. Dr. Pappas has served as the Symposium Co-Chair of the IEEE International Conference on Communications in 2022 and the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference in 2022. He is an Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON COMMUNICATIONS, the IEEE Transactions on Machine Learning in Communications and Networking, the IEEE/KICS JOURNAL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKS, Area Editor of the IEEE OPEN JOURNAL OF THE COMMUNICATIONS SOCIETY and an Expert Editor for invited papers of the IEEE COMMUNICATIONS LETTERS. He is a guest editor of the IEEE Internet of Things Magazine and the IEEE Network. He was a Guest Editor of the IEEE INTERNET OF THINGS JOURNAL on “Age of Information and Data Semantics for Sensing, Communication and Control Co-Design in IoT.” 

Dr. Zheng Chen, Assistant Professor, Linkoping University, Sweden

Zheng Chen is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering at Linköping University, Sweden. She received her Ph.D. degree in 2016 from CentraleSupélec, Paris-Saclay University, France. She joined Linkoping University as a postdoc researcher in 2017. Later, she was appointed as Assistant Professor in 2021.

 

Her current research interests focus on distributed information processing and machine learning over wireless networks. She was a recipient of the 2020 IEEE Communications Society Young Author Best Paper Award. She served as the Workshop Co-Chair for the IEEE GLOBECOM Workshop on Wireless Communications for Distributed Intelligence in 2021 and 2022. She is also an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking. She was selected as an Exemplary Reviewer for IEEE Communications Letters in 2016, the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications in 2017, and the IEEE Transactions on Communications in 2019.

Dr. B. N. Bharath, Assistant Professor, IIT Dharwad

B. N. Bharath received the B.E. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the B. M. S. College of Engineering, Bengaluru, in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree from the Electrical Communication Engineering (ECE) Department, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, in 2013. He worked at Qualcomm Inc. from 2013 to 2014. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad. His research interests include distributed machine learning, secure and robust federated learning, optimization theory, and distributed stochastic optimization. 

Dr. Harshan Jagadeesh, Associate Professor, IIT Delhi

Dr. Harshan Jagadeesh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He is also

the co-coordinator of the center of excellence on cybersecurity and information assurance at IIT Delhi. Prior to joining IIT Delhi, he worked as a Researcher in the CyberSecurity group at Advanced Digital Sciences Center, Singapore. Before that he worked as a Research Fellow in the Division of Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and in the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering at Monash University, Australia. He obtained the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, India. His research interests are in the broad areas of security, wireless networks, and applications of information theory and coding theory to communication and storage.

Dr. Ranjitha Prasad, Assistant Professor, IIIT Delhi

Dr. Ranjitha Prasad is an Assistant Professor in the ECE department, IIIT Delhi. She obtained her Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Science in 2015. Prior to this, she had been a postdoctoral researcher at Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore, Singapore, and a scientist at TCS Innovation Labs, Delhi. Her expertise lies  in the general areas of signal processing, Bayesian statistics, and more recently, machine learning and deep neural networks. She is the recipient of the Best Ph.D. thesis award (The Seshagiri Kaikini Medal) for 2014- 2015 from the Council of Indian Institute of Science, and the recipient of the Best Paper in the Communications Track at NCC 2014, held at IIT Kanpur. As an assistant professor, she has received the DST SERB Power fellowship and a grant from Meity under the CCBT project. Her current research interests are federated learning and explainable AI. 

Dr. K. P. Naveen - IIT Tirupati

K P Naveen received the B.E. degree in ECE from the Visveswaraiah Technological University in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore in 2013. His work experience includes Sci/Engg. SC, ISRO Satellite Centre, Bangalore (Jan 2006 - July 2007),  Post-doctoral Fellow, INRIA Saclay, France (Jan 2014 - Dec 2015), and INSPIRE Faculty, Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras (Jan 2016 - July 2017).  Since July 2017 he is with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati. His research interests include performance analysis of wireless networks, network economics, game theory, and  optimal control.  

Dr. Pooja Vyavahare - IIT Tirupati

I am an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Technology at Tirupati. Before joining IIT Tirupati, I was a post-doctoral fellow with the Coordinated Science Laboratory at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; my postdoc supervisor was Dr. Nitin Vaidya. I obtained my Ph.D from the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay, under the supervision of Prof. D. Manjunath and Prof. Nutan Limaye. Subsequently, I was briefly with CSE, IIT Delhi as a postdoc and later at the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering, IIT Mandi as a DST-INSPIRE faculty. My research interests include Distributed function computation and optimization, Analysis of communication networks. 

Dr. Parthajit Mohapatra, Assistant Professor, IIT Tirupati

Parthajit Mohapatra obtained his Ph. D. degree in Electrical Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in 2015. He was working as a postdoctoral research fellow at iTrust center for research in cyber security at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Singapore, from March 2015 - July 2016. He was working as an assistant professor at G. S. Sanyal School of Telecommunications at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, from August 2016 - July 2018. He was also a visiting faculty at Information and Communication Engineering (ICE) Department, Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Technology and Design (DGIST), South Korea during June-July 2017. Since July 2018, he is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati. His research interests are primarily in the area of physical layer secrecy, short packet communication, union of physical and network layer techniques.

Mr. Sudip Mazumder is the Global Head of Digital for Manufacturing Businesses and Special Infrastructure Projects, Larsen & Toubro Ltd., a 20 billion Dollar Indian conglomerate. In his role, as an innovator, he evangelizes existing and emerging technologies, sensitizes business leaders. As a practitioner, he deploys the technologies in business functions to deliver benefits.

Mr. Mazumder has 29 years of Industry experience, in 30 countries, and a hands-on Technology Leader. He speaks at national and international forums, at various institutes like IITs and IIMs, Univ of Maryland at Baltimore, Univ Texas at Dallas etc. Mr. Mazumder writes technology articles, has won Industry accolades multiple times. He is a TEDx speaker.

Mr. Mazumder is National Chair, ASSOCHAM, For Digitalization of Tunneling and Roads. He is also part of Bureau of Indian Standard working group for Smart Manufacturing Architecture.

Mr. Mazumder is an Engineering Graduate from Calcutta University, Post-Graduate from IIT Bombay and has done Global Leadership Program from Ross Business School, Univ of Michigan. He was trained at Goldratt Institute, Amsterdam on Supply Chain Management and holds a Diploma in Cyber Laws.
