After spending 2.5 years in the pharmaceutical industry, he moved to IIT Bombay to obtain his Ph.D under the supervision of Prof. Suvarn S. Kulkarni. During his doctoral studies, he developed novel expedient routes to access rare deoxy amino L-sugars of bacterial origin and extended in total synthesis of bacterial glycoconjugates. He moved to Max-Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Germany for his postdoctoral studies with Prof. Peter H. Seeberger, wherein he spent 2.6 years and developed novel strategies towards glycoconjugate vaccine against a Gram-positive bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae. He served as senior scientist in Vaxxilon Deutschland GmbH for 2.5 years on synthesis and clinical development of synthetic glycoconjugate vaccines and their formulations, before moving to IIT Tirupati as an assistant professor in the department of chemistry in 2022.
