Motakatla Venkateswara Reddy received his Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) from the SBTET, Andhra Pradesh, India in 2006; B.Tech. degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderbad, India in 2009; M.Tech degree in Power Electronics & Drives from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, India in 2013, and Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering Dept. under the supervision of Dr Ranjana Sodhi at Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Panjab, India.
His research interests are Power Quality issues in microgrid, signal processing applications to power system, application of pattern recognition algorithms to power system, power electronics converter applications to microgrid, and power management strategies in microgrid.
1) 2009-2011: Lecturer in electrical engineering dept., LBRCE, Mylavaram.
2) 2013-2014: Assistant Professor in electrical engineering dept., LBRCE, Mylavaram.
3) 2014-2018: Teaching Assistant for Basic electrical engineering lab, Electrical Machines lab, Power Electronics Tutorials, and Simulation of Modern Power Systems in IIT Ropar.
4) Nov. 2018 - Feb 2020: Post-Doc Fellow at IIT Ropar
The PhD research work of M V Reddy is around Power Quality (PQ) identification and enhancement in microgrid including the following objectives.
1) PQ identification and classification
2) Grid synchronization methods
3) Islanding detection of microgrid, power management and harmonic load sharing problems in islanded microgrid.
4) Multifunctional capability of inverters in microgrid in view of PQ enhancement.
5) Role of energy storage elements on PQ enhancement in microgrid.
