Biography:

Dr. Saikat Roy did his postdoc from Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. He completed his Mtech+PhD dual degree in chemical engineering from IIT Bombay in the year 2016. As a part of his PhD work, he studied the consolidation of colloidal gel via simulation and theory and proposed a model which does fairly well in predicting the salient features of the compressional rheology of gels. During his postdoctoral research, he studied the behaviour of frictional granular matter via simulation and theory. His research interests mainly lie in Granular Mechanics, Soft Condensed Matter and related Solid Mechanics, Jamming and Glass transition,Complex fluid Rheology.

Areas of Research:

Granular Mechanics, Complex Fluids , Soft Condensed Matter and related Solid Mechanics, Colloidal Gel Rheology, Jamming and Glass transition, Fluid Mechanics.

YEZAZ AHMED GADI MAN

Yezaz obtained his M.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and his B.Tech from Osmania University. He is presently engaged in the simulation of colloidal gels and micromechanical modeling.

Divas Singh Dagur

Divas received his M.Tech in Nanotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu, where Molecular Dynamics simulations were carried out to investigate the thermal properties of amorphous carbon and iron oxide nanoparticles using LAMMPS, VMD, and Ovito. His B.E. in Mechanical Engineering was obtained from Parul Institute of Technology, Gujarat. He is currently simulating colloidal gels, and his research interest lies in understanding their mechanical response.

Manish Kumar Mandal

Manish completed his Master’s degree at IIT Ropar and subsequently enrolled in the Ph.D. program. His research focuses on investigating the response of granular media under high-speed impact through a combination of numerical simulations using the Discrete Element Method (DEM) and experimental studies.

Tanuja Kumari

Tanuja completed her Master’s degree at the Central University of Punjab and joined the group in July 2024. Her current research is focused on studying the response of suspensions under high-speed impact using CFD-DEM simulations with LIGGGHTS.

Deeksha Saxena

Deeksha completed her Master’s degree at MJPRU, Bareilly. She joined the research group as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in September 2024 and subsequently enrolled in the Ph.D. program. Her current research is focused on investigating memory formation in granular materials through a combination of Discrete Element Method (DEM)-based numerical simulations and photoelastic experiments.
