ABOUT WORKSHOP

• The goal of NS2ML-DE workshop is to equip participants with theoretical knowledge of numerical methods, and hands on practical training followed by data-driven machine learning algorithms such as Physics Informed Neural Networks etc.

• Emphasis will be placed on applying these techniques to solve differential equations that govern real-world challenges in science and technology. 

• The workshop will feature hands-on sessions using MATLAB/PYTHON, where participants will implement numerical algorithms and machine learning algorithms starting from very basics to the advance level. 

• Upon completion of the workshop, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire process, from developing a mathematical model to constructing efficient numerical algorithms and implementing advanced computational strategies for simulations. 

• This workshop is designed for motivated and ambitious individuals, including Bachelor's and Master's students, research scholars, postdoctoral researchers, faculty members, and industry professionals.

COURSE COORDINATORS

• By Air: The nearest airport is in Chandigarh, about 42 kilometers from Rupnagar. Any visitor wishing to come to Rupnagar/Ropar could take a flight from his/her respective place to Chandigarh if available, or a flight from Delhi to Chandigarh, and then take a taxi from the airport to reach the campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) which is an hours journey. There are regular flights from Delhi to Chandigarh.

•  By Train: Regular trains are plying between Delhi and Rupnagar. The Delhi-Ambala-Una railway line passes through Rupnagar. The journey is around 6 hours from Delhi. Anyone wishing to visit the campus may also take a train from his/her place to Ambala or Chandigarh, and then a taxi ride to the IIT Ropar campus takes around 1-1.5 hours. 

•  By Road: The town of Ropar, the district headquarters, is 42 kilometers from Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab. Rupnagar is well connected by road through National Highway NH-21. It is about 280 km from Delhi by highway. To reach Rupnagar, initially can follow NH-1 from Delhi to Ambala City via Panipat, Karnal, and Kurukshetra, then reach Chandigarh, and finally go along NH-21 to reach Rupnagar via Kharar, Kurali.
