About Me

Hi, My name is Mansi Sharma, a Prime minister Research fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar. I am working under the guidance of Dr. Srivatsava Naidu. I earned my Masters in Zoology (Honours), with specialization in Molecular Cytogenetics from the Department of Zoology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. My Master's thesis work (major and minor) was on the 'Potential of Nrf2 activators on the alleviation of acute lung injury'. From my thesis work, I got very interested in Molecular Biology and joined as a Junior Research Fellow in the Non-Coding RNAs lab under the guidance of Dr, Srivatsava Naidu at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar. I worked on the ribosomal DNA damage repair and chemotherapeutic resistance as a Junior Research Fellow. Thereafter, I decided to join the same lab for my PhD. Currently I am working as a Prime Minister Research Fellow on the ribosomal DNA damage repair and trying to crack the mechanisms of Chemoresistance in cancer cells, operating through RNA Polymerase I machinery. Thanks for visiting my homepage!
