Inverted Microscope (Make: Carl Zeiss, Model: AxioVert.A1)

Inverted microscope is a light microscope which helps to capture the images of the specimen kept in the large Petri dishes. In this setup, light source and condenser are fitted on the top while the objectives and turret are mounted below the stage pointing up.

Double barrier Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) attached with fluorescent microscope (Make: Apex Instruments Pvt. Ltd.

This setup is used to compress the monolayer of molecules or colloidal particles at the interface between water and air. Generally, the objective of LB trough is to study the properties of monolayers of amphiphilic molecules. This could be achieved by obtaining the surface pressure vs. area/molecule isotherm curve by performing the compression cycle using barriers connected to the motor.

Inverted Microscope (Make: Leica, Model: Leica DM IL LED Fluo)

Inverted microscope is a light microscope which helps to capture the images of the specimen kept in the large Petri dishes. This setup consists of LED light source, cool pix camera, and objectives to perform both bright-field as well as fluorescent microscopic studies.

Homogenizer or disperser  (Make: IKA, Model: T-25 digital Ultra-Turrax)

High performance dispersing instrument for volumes from 1 - 2000 mL (water) with digital speed display. It offers a wide speed range from 1000 - 25000 rpm. This instrument is essential for performing emulsification.

Compact Refrigerated Centrifuge (Make: ThermoFisher Scientific, Model: SL8R)

This centrifugal system is designed to spin 50 mL conical tubes at over 12,000 x g or a wide range of microtubes at speeds up to 30,279 x g.

Dip coater (Make: APEX Instruments Co. Pvt. Ltd., Model: Xdip-SV1)

This setup is designed to perform thin film coating or deposition of monolayer of colloidal particles on the desired substrate.

System for performing the measurement of contact angle, surface tension, and dilatational viscoelastic properties of colloidal particles at various fluid-fluid interfaces

This instrument is designed to help colloidal scientists perform sessile drop and pendant drop studies. In addition, it helps perform the interfacial dilatational rheology using pulsating drop method to determine the viscoelastic properties of the colloidal particles adsorbed at oil-water or air-water interfaces.

UV-Vis Spectrophotometer (Make: Thermo Scientific, Model: GENESYS 10S UV-Vis)

This spectrophotometer tecnique is often performed to make quantitative determination of diverse analytes or samples. This instrument is defined to identify the range of samples that are detectable in both UV and Visible  regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, i.e., 190-1100 nm.

Ultrasonic Probe Sonicator, Power 750 watt  (Make: Cole Parmer, Model: WW-04711-45)

This ultrosonic-based processor performs emulsification at the lab scale, especially using micro-tip probe. This high energy processing device provides a good experience in preparing unique formulations, especially water-in-water emulsions with narrow distribution of droplets stabilized by nanoparticles. It does help us acheive droplets in the submicron ranges, i.e., < 1 um.

Water Purifier (Make: Thermo Scientific, Model: Smart2Pure 12 UV/UF)

This system is designed to produce Type 1 and Type 2 water. It is generally accepted to use Type 1 water for all experiments requiring de-ionized water and Type 2 for washing the glassware and vessels.
