Brief Bio: Bibhanshu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. Prior to this position, he worked with the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Ames National Laboratory, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA.  At these places, he demonstrated his wide skills and contributed to the recycling of Al-alloys, fabrication of new generation of permanent magnets and identification of mechanical behaviors of neutron-, proton-irradiated, and unirradiated nuclear reactor materials. Bibhanshu's research group focuses on the mechanical performance of materials in extreme environments, thermomechanical processing, materials recycling, and crystallographic texture-microstructure-properties optimization with in-situ deformation experiments.

Bibhanshu received his B.Tech. degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) in 2011; master's and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore in 2019. He was employed at Jaypee Hi-Tech Casting Centre from 2011 to 2013, where he worked on the heat treatment of steels and their mechanical properties optimization for application in cement industries.
