A. Consumables Needed : Safety gloves, Tongs, Tissue Roll etc.
B. Specifications : Temperature Range of the Furnace is 1500 Degree Centigrade & can use under vacuum or in the presence of Inert gas.
Note : User may arrange Inert gas and vacuum pump themselves.
D. Description :
The SMNT-CAMF-1700-8L model of our series of is a Controlled Atmosphere Muffle Furnace designed to operate in a Vacuum as well as in Gaseous environment for the synthesis and annealing of material. Below are the detailed specifications and Operation of different components of the same.
D1. Gas Connection :
The system is meant to use only non-toxic and non-flammable gases. one SS pipe lines of 1⁄4-inch formanifold connection should be prepared and brought to the site where the system is to be installed. The gas cylinders must be kept in a proper gas cabinet with cylinders having two-stage regulators and valves. A typical gas line pressure, required to the system mass flow controllers(Or Gas Flow Meters), may vary approximately in the range of 2 bar to 3.0 bar. The gas pipe lines must be checked for any leaks at high pressures.
D2. System Overview :
B.1 Controlled Atmosphere Muffle Furnace
B.2 Vacuum System
B.3 Mechanical Pump.
We are using Muffle Furnace, shown above with various components, in our Controlled Atmosphere Muffle Furnace. It is made up of MoSi2 heating element, which can achieve faster heating and cooling rate. This furnace can be used to a working temperature of 1500 C with a maximum temperature achievable is 1600 C for a short time (15 mins). The maximum temperature must be avoided to prevent damages to the Sealing of chamber. The integrated precision temperature controller can provide 30 segments heating and cooling steps with +/- 1C accuracy.
D3. Rotary Pump :
A double-stage, oil-sealed, rotary vane vacuum pump is used to evacuate the system. The pump has KF25 inlet and exhaust ports and a gas ballast valve. When the pump is switched off, air is prevented from entering the pumping chamber by suitable sealing devices; it is also fitted with an inlet-valve which ensures there is no suck back of air and oil into the vacuum system This pumps evacuates the chamber with a pumping speed of ~ 12 m3/hr to achieve a chamber pressure of better than 5 x 10-1 torr. The ultimate vacuum of the rotary pump is 10-3 Torr.
