Teaching Learning Unit (TLU)

Empowering Education Through Technology and Innovation

The Teaching Learning Unit (TLU) at IIT Jammu plays a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the academic infrastructure of the institute. Established in 2020 during the global shift to online education, TLU was created to ensure a seamless transition from traditional classrooms to digital learning environments. Since then, it has grown into a comprehensive service unit managing both academic and event-related technical operations across the campus.

To provide seamless, tech-enabled support to the teaching-learning processes at IIT Jammu, ensuring all academic and institutional events are executed with precision and efficiency.

Audio-Visual Support for Events

TLU provides AV services for all major institute-level functions:

Senate, BoG, and BWC meetings
National & International Conferences
Webinars & PhD Defenses
Cultural & Academic Events

Our in-house audio team ensures smooth delivery of speeches, presentations, and hybrid sessions.

All managed with real-time support and parallel scheduling across multiple venues.

The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu was inaugurated on 6th August 2016, and welcomed the first batch of students into the campus in Paloura, Jammu. In the initial phases, the establishment of IIT Jammu was done under the mentorship of IIT Delhi.

In 2018, IIT Jammu shifted its primary operations to the 400 acres of lush green land in Jagti village, just outside Jammu city, provided by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir for establishing its main campus.
