Designing and Engineering Advanced Ceramics for Extreme Environments
At the Advanced Ceramics and Composites Laboratory, our research focuses on the processing, manufacturing, joining, and performance evaluation of advanced ceramic materials for extreme environments. We aim to develop high-temperature, damage-tolerant, and scalable ceramic components for applications in nuclear energy, hypersonic systems, concentrated solar power, and advanced manufacturing.
Our work integrates ceramic powder processing, sintering, diffusion bonding, additive manufacturing, machining, and microstructural characterization to bridge the gap between laboratory-scale materials and real engineering components.
