Dr. Shipra Bajpai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering at IIT Jodhpur and leads the Advanced Ceramics and Composites Laboratory (ACCL). Her research focuses on the design, processing, manufacturing, and performance evaluation of advanced ceramic materials for extreme environments.
Her research interests include high-entropy ceramics, ceramic matrix composites, ultra-high temperature ceramics, additive manufacturing, ceramic joining, and precision machining. She is particularly interested in developing scalable manufacturing technologies that bridge the gap between laboratory-scale materials development and real-world engineering applications.
Prior to joining IIT Jodhpur, she worked as a Postdoctoral Appointee at Argonne National Laboratory (USA), where her research focused on advanced ceramic processing and high-temperature energy systems. She received her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur and was awarded the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award for her contributions to the joining of ultra-high temperature ceramics.
Her current research aims to develop next-generation ceramic materials and components for aerospace, nuclear, energy, and advanced industrial applications.
