    • Outreach
  • Initiated Astronomy Outreach program in the Discipline of Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Engineering. We have regular monthly outreach programs as well as dedicated outreach events involving local schools and colleges in and around Indore.

  • I have initiated collaboration with Nehru Planetarium, New Delhi for celebration of Bapu Khagol Mela, to commemorate 150 years of Mahatma (a Ministry of Culture, GoI, initiative)

  • I am working with collaborators in S.P. Pune University on an ISRO Astronomy Mission called SEAMS. In the process, I am interacting with general audience as well as students at University level.

  • As the coordinator of the ICARD, IUCAA centre at IIT Indore, I have initiated several workshops to be held in coming years. The first one will be held in IIT Indore in January, 2020.

100 hours of Astronomy - The Overview Effect

The Department of Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Space Engineering (DAASE) participated in the "100 Hours of Astronomy," an annual event organized by the International Astronomical Union to foster global collaboration and engagement from 1st to 4th October 2023.

Our distinguished panel of speakers comprised experts from various domains, including faculty members, Ph.D. students, and talented early-career M.Sc. 2nd-year students.

Beyond the informative talks, DAASE organized a myriad of interactive sessions which included engaging quizzes that challenged participants' astronomical knowledge, hands-on telescope-building workshops, mesmerizing stargazing and Sungazing experiences, and dynamic Q&A sessions covering diverse topics like the pursuit of astronomy, the journey into this scientific field, and potential career prospects.

The response from students was overwhelming and their enthusiastic participation underscored the success of our outreach efforts in making science accessible and intriguing for the younger generation. The event served as a platform for bridging the gap between academia and the broader community and also reinforced our commitment to nurturing a passion for astronomy and space exploration in the minds of budding scientists.
