About Instructors

Prof. Sameer V. Dalvi is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering, at IIT Gandhinagar. He has done his masters and PhD from IIT Bombay, both in Chemical Engineering. Dr Dalvi’s research interests are in the areas of colloidal suspensions and drug formulations, with key focus on the formulation of microbubbles as theranostic agents. He has published 38 journal articles in international journals and has contributed to 34 conference papers, presentations and posters.

Prof. Himanshu Shekhar is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar. He obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester, followed by postdoctoral training from the University of Cincinnati. His research is focused on ultrasound imaging and therapy with microbubbles. He has published 18 peer-reviewed journal articles and has been recognized with the F. V. Hunt Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Med-into-Grad Fellowship.

Prof. Karla Mercado-Shekhar is an Assistant Professor of Biological Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar. She obtained a BS from Boston University, and MS and PhD from the University of Rochester in Biomedical Engineering. She trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Cincinnati. Her research is focused on imaging and tissue characterization. She has received several awards and a postdoctoral research grant from the United States National Institutes of Health. She has published 9 peer-reviewed articles on ultrasound.
