Who are we?

A team...different people, different ideas, different paths, but same objective.
DNA-protein interactions interest me. I am working with different forms of human CGGBP1 to figure out it's direct and indirect DNA-bindings. My work will shed light on how DNA-binding of CGGBP1 underlies its cellular functions.
I like teaching. I am an MSc in Biotechnology from Nirma University Ahmedabad and joined the PhD programme in 2020.
My research work aims to uncover the epigenomic alterations caused by phylogenetically divergent forms of CGGBP1 in response to heat stress. Apart from being interested in biology, I am drawn to sketching, singing, sports...nearly everything that is fun. I joined the PhD programme in 2021.
I am studying the presence of fusion transcripts in RNA-seq datasets from cells with and without CGGBP1. My research aims to link the occurrence of chimeric chromosomal DNA in CGGBP1-depleted cells to transcriptomic alterations. When I am not in the lab, I dance and bake. I joined the MTech programme in 2021.
I am starting up.......soon.
When I am not in the lab, I play guitar.
Learning epigenomic data meta-analysis and hope to carry out research on infectious diseases and human immunology. I love modelling, in Python that is.
Learning NGS data meta-analysis to understand histone code and its relationship with human CGGBP1.
Learning NGS data meta-analysis to understand cytosine methylation and its relationship with human CGGBP1.
I am trained in Evo-Devo biology and Epigenetics. Since 2006, I became interested in the evolution and functions of human CGGBP1. My group has applied cell and molecular biology with NGS and basic bioinformatics to solve some CGGBP1 mysteries and generated interesting questions in the process. Through the prism of CGGBP1, we aim to understand human cell biology and its evolution better.
