The CRTDH at IIT Bhilai is a state-of-the-art synthesis/characterization/testing facility dedicated to research and development in the area of New Material & Chemical Process. The laboratory is equipped with the following advanced instruments that enable precise and comprehensive analysis.
ICP-OES (Make: Agilent, Model: 5800 ICP-OES) installed in CRTDH-IIT Bhilai.
Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES). It is an analytical technique used for the elemental analysis of a wide range of samples. ICP-OES combines the capabilities of inductively coupled plasma (ICP) as an ionization source and optical emission spectroscopy (OES) for elemental detection and quantification. The emission spectrum obtained from the ICP-OES instrument contains a series of peaks corresponding to different elements present in the sample. By comparing the intensity of these peaks to calibrated standards, the concentration of each element can be determined. It can also analyze multiple elements simultaneously.
A glove box or glove chamber is an instrument which is a sealed enclosure that provides a controlled inert environment for handling sensitive and hazardous material. It is used as an inert gas workstation for processing/ sample preparation of air sensitive materials which are useful for chemical, pharmaceuticals, pigments, textile, dye/dye intermediates, metal and mineral industries. It is designed to maintain an atmosphere that is free from moisture, oxygen and another contaminant. The main purpose of a glove box is to protect both the operator and the materials being handled. This is an indispensable tool for performing moisture/air sensitive transformations/fabrication reactions which include polymerization. The cold well fitted in the glove box allows transformations/fabrication processes to be performed at subzero temperature also.
