Decentralised and Smart Systems Research Group

About the Group -

Be it Smart-home or Smart-city, Intelligent-transportation or Industry-4.0, Precision-agriculture or Smart-healthcare - each of these abstract concepts primarily aims to accomplish the fundamental goals of improving our lifestyles, optimizing the usage of natural resources, and thereby ensuring a better future. The prominent pillars enabling the realization of the above-mentioned concepts are - Internet-of-Things (IoT) and its precursor, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). In Decentralized and Smart Systems Research Group (DSSRG), our primary vision is to enable these technologies to integrate a large number of heterogeneous intelligent devices and make them collaborate efficiently and smartly to solve real-world problems. We brainstorm, design, develop, and test efficient communication protocols, smart and decentralised algorithms, as well as build the full system. Finally, we evaluate them in sync and even against the state-of-the-art solutions.

We enthusiastically take up challenging real-world problems and provide promising solutions. We are very keen to know about the specific problems/requirements and would like to help our level best with our expertise to derive fruitful solutions.

We are open to discussion. Please drop a mail at dssrg.iit@gmail.com with CC to sudipta@iitbbs.ac.in.

Open positions

(1) There is one JRF position under the project titled "Design and Development of an Efficient Framework for Decentralized Real-Time Coordination and Collaboration for a Swarm of Autonomous Robots" (Core Research Grant, SERB, DST).

Please find some details regarding the project here. In summary the project aims to apply lightweight IoT/WSN technology for efficient collaboration and coordination among robots and solve real-world problems.

Interested candidates, please drop a mail to sudipta@iitbbs.ac.in.

(2) There is one open PhD position in the area of 'Wireless Networks and Distributed Computing in Internet-of-Things (IoT)'. Interested candidates should send their updated CV  along with a short Statement of Purpose (SOP) to sudipta@iitbbs.ac.in.

Please check your eligibility for PhD at IIT Bhubaneswar here.
