This NPTEL Plus workshop introduces educators, developers, and professionals to the core ideas behind Generative AI and workflow automation. Participants explore how to apply Large Language Models (LLMs) for education and productivity, build intelligent workflows using tools like n8n and Google AI Studio, and design Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)-based solutions to enhance contextual reasoning in AI systems.
Through a blend of theory and hands-on practice, learners gain the skills to prototype AI tools for their own use cases in education and beyond.
Foundations of GenAI Tools and Workflow Automation
Concepts Covered
Introduction to Generative AI and LLMs
Teaching and learning applications of LLMs
Personalising LLMs for specific tasks
Exploring Gems and AI Agents
Using Google AI Studio
Introduction to n8n for workflow automation
Learning Outcomes
Understand how LLMs function and their limitations
Build basic AI agents for education or automation
Use n8n and AI Studio to create intelligent workflows
Hands-on activity: Build a basic AI workflow using n8n + LLM
As part of the workshop, participants designed practical projects applying what they learned. These projects fall under two categories:
🔗 RAG-based Models – Projects using RAG models using Gemini Gems
🔗 n8n-based Workflows – Automated workflows for learning and productivity using n8n
Explore their innovative solutions on the Projects Page.
