For any engineering discipline, good lab facilities and updated lab experiments play a vital role in understanding the various concepts and getting a hands-on feel of theoretical ideas. Lack of experimental resources may hinder the learning process; thus, the Virtual Lab addresses this issue by providing remote access to simulation-based Labs in various disciplines of science and engineering.
This course, focuses on learning how to access, use, and utilize the Virtual Labs in chemical engineering. Experiments conducted in the Heat transfer, Mass transfer, and Reaction engineering laboratories are discussed. The focus of the course is to provide a theoretical concept used in the experiment, performing experiments in the virtual lab, and how to evaluate results obtained.

Aspen Plus is a process modeling tool used for process monitoring, optimization, and conceptual design; especially by chemical process industries. This course on the Aspen Plus Simulation engine teaches one how to model the most common unit operations of a chemical plant in Aspen. At the end of the course, one will be able to set up a simulation, run it, get design parameters, optimize, and get results.
