Fairness in Technology : Applicant Reactions to the Use of Technology In Selection

Summary

This lab is conducting research on understanding how applicants react to the use of technology in selection, with an emphasis on video interviews and artificial intelligence. We are using survey data which was collected using real world applicants. We hope that our results can be used to enlighten hiring professionals and perhaps form best practices for utilizing these new selection technologies.

Multi-Objective Selection Systems: Pareto- Optimization

Summary

This lab examines Pareto-optimal selection systems. Pareto-optimal selection systems are typically designed to optimized for one protected group. We look at how well Pareto-optimal predictor composites developed to reduce ethnic disparities for one group (i.e. Black-White adverse impact) perform with regard to another protected group (i.e. female-male or Hispanic-White adverse impact).
