Venue
The 84th Midwest PDE Seminar will be held on the Main Campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. The venue for the conference is John T. Rettaliata Engineering Center Room 104.
IIT is a private research university located four miles south of downtown Chicago (loop). It traces its roots back to 1890 in the establishment of the Armour Institute. IIT's main campus was designed by modernist architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and has been named one of the 200 most significant works of architecture in the United States by the American Institute of Architects. The main campus was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005 and it houses classics of modernist architecture such as the Crown Hall, a national historic landmark.
Getting to the venue
You can get to IIT via bus, CTA, or metra (in addition to cabs.) There are both Green line and Red line CTA stations very close to campus. The Green line station is called 35th Bronzeville/IIT and the Red line station is called Sox/35th. Additionally there is a Metra station also very close to IIT. You can also take buses 4 or 29 from the loop to easily get to IIT. More directions are here:
