Functional supramolecular biomaterials
Functional supramolecular biomaterials
Our research is mainly focused on the design and synthesis of supramolecular smart materials from the self-assembly of various molecular building blocks including DNA, amino acids and small organic molecules. We investigate the mechanism of self-assembly, pathway complexity in the self-assembly, engineering of molecular building blocks to control the self-assembly pathways and the synthesis of chiral nanostructures. We explore the potential of these biomaterials in different applications including cancer diagnosis, cancer therapy, biosensors, luminescent inks, anti-counterfeiting agents, data encryption etc.
