Professor Biplav Srivastava

Professor Biplav Srivastava is a Professor of Computer Science at the AI Institute at the University of South Carolina. Previously, he was at IBM for nearly two decades in the roles of a Research Scientist, Distinguished Data Scientist and Master Inventor. Biplav is an ACM Distinguished Scientist, AAAI Senior Member, IEEE Senior Member and AAAS Leshner Fellow for Public Engagement on AI (2020-2021).

Professor Dr. Dr. habil Peter Struss

Prof. Dr. Dr. habil. Peter Struss obtained a Diploma in mathematics from the University of Göttingen and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Kaiserslautern and accomplished his habilitation in computer science at the Technical University of Munich. His research interest is in Artificial Intelligence with a focus on the development of foundations and environments for modeling and model-based problem solvers, esp. automated diagnosis, testing, failure-modes-and-effects analysis, as well as decision support systems in the area of ecological and environmental systems.



Dr. Hdr. FREDERIC ANDRES

Dr. Dr. habil Frederic Andres received his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Paris VI "Pierre et Marie Curie”in 1993 and his Dr. Habilitation in Informatics from the University of Nantes in 2000.His main research areas of interest include several topics such as collective intelligence-based community management, early warning management, pedagogy and didactical web-based science education for all, intelligent cooking recipe computing and water crystal computing.

Professor Pushpak Bhattacharyya

Prof. Pushpak Bhattacharyya, Fellow of National Academy of Engineering and A.P.J. Abdul Kalam National Fellow, is former Director of IIT Patna (2015-20) and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department IIT Bombay where he also held the Vijay and Sita Vashi Chair Professorship. Prof. Pushpak Bhattacharyya has worked in all areas of Natural Language Processing- machine translation, sentiment and opinion mining, cross lingual search and multilingual information extraction. He combines linguistics, cognitive science and machine learning in a unique way.

Dr. Amit Sharma

Dr. Amit Sharma is a senior researcher at Microsoft Research India. His interests lie in Causal Inference, Computational Social Science, Machine Learning & Societal Impact.

Dr. Deepak Padmanabhan

Dr. Deepak Padmanabhan holds a faculty position in Computer Science at Queen's University Belfast, United Kingdom. He received his B.Tech from Cochin University and his M.Tech and PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, all in Computer Science. His current research interests include data analytics, similarity search, information retrieval and natural language processing

Dr. Tanmoy Chakraborty

He completed his Ph.D as a Google India Ph.D. fellow in the Dept. of CSE, IIT Kharagpur, India in Sept, 2015. He has been awarded prestigious Ramanujan Faculty Fellowship and DAAD Faculty Award. His primary research interests include Network Science, Data Mining, Natural Language Processing and Data-driven cybersecurity.

Dr. Jainendra Shukla

Jainendra Shukla completed his Ph.D. in excellent grades with Industrial Doctorate Distinction and International Doctorate Distinction from Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), Spain in 2018.He is experienced in human-robot interactions and affect recognition using physiological signals. He is enthusiastic about empowering machines with adaptive interaction ability that can improve the quality of life in health and social care.

Dr Raghava Muthuraju

He got his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Wright State University, Dayton, OH, USA in 2016. After his PhD, he worked as a Research Scientist at GE Global Research Center, Niskayuna, NY, USA. At GE Global Research, his work involved building knowledge graphs from unstructured and semi-structured data, along with using knowledge graphs for predictive analytics.

His research interests are in various aspects of Knowledge Graphs/Semantic Web such as construction, ontology modeling, reasoning, querying, and its applications to specific domains such as healthcare.


Dr. Sameep Mehta

He joined IBM Research- India in September, 2006. He is part of Business Analytics and Optimization Group. Prior to that he finished his PhD from The Ohio State University in August,2006. His current research interests are in area of Business Analytic, Data Mining and Service Science.

Dr. Suchi Saria

Suchi Saria is the John C. Malone Associate Professor of computer science at the Whiting School of Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, USA. She is the Director of the Machine Learning and Healthcare Lab and is the founding research director of the Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare. Dr. Nithya Sambasivan

She is a Staff Researcher at PAIR and lead the HCI-AI group at Google Research India, Bangalore. Her current research focuses on using HCI techniques in developing responsible AI in India, with a focus on marginalized communities. Specific sub-areas are data, fairness, privacy and abuse, and consent. She publishes in the fields of HCI, ICTD, and Privacy/Security. Her long-standing research agenda has been on HCI and under-represented communities in the Global South. More information about her can be found here.
