Like every good project, this one too came with a lot of challenges and obstacles along the way.
We initially planned to use Bluetooth technology for the connection of app and our system but we soon realized that the system wouldn't be feasible as compromising the security of our system would be very easy , thus making the house vulnerable to theft , illegal access , etc. Solution to it was usage of WiFi and adding a whole new dimension to our project.
Addition of WiFi meant learning the ways of how to implement it and another major challenge was MIT App Inventor wasn't able to deliver to our expectations. Thus we had to use Android Studio for making our app. Security was still at risk and thus we added OTP system too in our app.
Physically a model had to presented and making a real life working project wouldn't have been possible given the time and budget, thus we had to restrict ourselves to a miniature house model and added our system to it.
From the hardware part of the project, many a times different servos, boards and sensor stopped working but learning from the mini project , this time we had backup for each of our hardware. We weren't stuck with a non working component as we were prepared.
Lastly, in a good hardworking team, little arguments and disagreements are bound to happen and ours was no exception. But, at the end we came out united and it was our teamwork which helped to make this project possible.
