Organizer: Dr. Beena Pillai and Dr. Arpita Konar (CSIR-IGIB, New Delhi)
Aim and Scope: The school is designed to act as a meeting ground for researchers working in different areas of neurobiology to learn about the rapid advancements in RNA biology and their impact on our understanding of gene regulation in the brain. It aims to include:
Interaction between classical neurobiologists and genomics ,transcriptomics or regulatory networks.
Hands on sessions/ virtual lab/ recorded sessions to provide the necessary toolkit for the uninitiated to start exploring RNA biology.
Special sessions with experts to forsee pitfalls in their research plans.
Description: The IBRO Asssociate school will provide theoretical and practical training on various aspects related to the role of non-coding RNAs in brain development. The school will run for 5 consecutive days (pre and post conference day for lab resource personnel only) and will have various lectures and laboratory sessions ( Virtual lab/ recorded) covering unique topics on each day. These topics includes scientific sessions on regulatory RNAs in brain development, miRNA mediated gene networks in neural development and disease, mechanisms of lncRNA function in the brain and RNA based peripheral biomarkers for neurodevelopmental defects. There will be practical sessions and special talks on interesting topics too.
About Lectures and speakers: International recognized researchers studying different aspects of RNA in brain development will be invited as a faculty in this school. Speakers from different research centres from India will also be invited.
Basic Plan of the school: The school will run for 5 consecutive days. There will be interesting scientific lectures, classroom sessions and hands-on (Virtual/ recorded version) on each day according to the theme.
DAY 1- Introduction to the school (Introductory lectures & IGIB tour)
DAY 2- Regulatory RNA influencing behaviour and development (Scientific lectures)
DAY 3- Role of RNA in neurodegenerative diseases (Scientific talks & hands-on sessions)
DAY 4- RNA : From structure to Function (Scientific talks & hands-on sessions)
DAY 5- Participants presentations
Pre and post conference day for lab resource personnel only
