City of Ten Thousand Buddhas is a large Buddhist training monastery and international community, in which DVSS is situated.

Students enroll in an average of six academic classes (English, math, history, science, foreign language, Buddhist Studies/World Religions, and fine arts) per semester and participate in an average of four co-curricular activities
Students compete in various competitions yearly. Poetry Out Loud, Scholastics Arts and Writing, Northern Association Chinese Competition, Model United Nations, Mock Trial, American Mathematics Competition, Mendocino County Science Fair, and others.
Students participate in physical activities, intramural challenges, and VAPA.
Both divisions have an Associated Student Council, which gives students an opportunity to express their needs and wishes and to allow them to take more responsibility for the school.
DVSS students have organized various clubs throughout the years, including Community Service Club, Yearbook Club, and Children of the World.
During the 2020-2021 school year most of our classes were online. The school’s program has been maintained and developed in accordance with the school’s mission and Expected School-wide learning results.
