Sites web des Alliances Française en Inde:
Alliance française, a local organization in a global network
Alliance française aims to promote the French language, showcase the French culture and develop cultural ties between France and India. In India, there is a strong and vivid network of 13 Alliances françaises, soon to be 14. Some centers have different branches in one state, among which Indore for Alliance française de Bhopal, Baroda for Alliance française d’Ahmedabad or Coimbatore for Alliance française de Madras.
In India, like worldwide, the Alliances Françaises are registered societies, following local laws. The Executive Committee is composed of eminent Indian personalities and administers the affairs of the Alliance Française. The president is elected by the members of the Executive Committee. A Director, designated and remunerated by the French Government, is managing the institution.
Alliance française in India works closely with Indian partner organizations as well as the French Embassy and the French Institute in India.
Alliance française, an institution of reference for learning French
Alliance française is first and foremost a language centre, offering a wide array of French classes from beginner to advanced levels, to children, teenagers, adults (individuals and professionals). The teaching methods are oriented towards action and communication, engaging the learners through various authentic contents and roleplays. Classes are available online and onsite. Teachers are regularly trained to adapt to the new pedagogical challenges and evolutions.
Alliance française is also an official certification centre. Several yearly sessions of Delf / Dalf, (diploma in French Language), delivered by the French National Ministry of Education, of TEF and TCF, under the umbrella of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Paris (CCIP), are organized. These certifications give way to official recognition of language proficiency and can be helpful to seek a job or pursue higher studies in France.
Each centre hosts a French library, including magazines, books, interactive tools, movies. The library is complemented by an online platform: Culturethèque.
Alliance française, a cultural centre of choice
As a non-profit and local independent association, Alliance française is the ideal meeting place for Indian and French artists. The Alliance Française network offers a wide range of cultural programs, highlighting various artistic forms (music, dance, theatre, photography, design…), in diverse formats (festivals, conference, debate, performance…), stressing the importance of an intercultural encounter and encouraging the format of residence. They team up with local organizations, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and other prominent cultural and educational institutions to achieve this endeavour.
About the Foundation des Alliances françaises
Founded in 1883 by a group of prominent individuals, keen on keeping France well known and increasing its influence by promoting the French language and culture throughout the world, Alliance Française is now a cultural network of a global scale and a teaching facility without equal. The 830 branches are meeting places for people who love France, want to learn its language. It is a place of dialogue between cultures.
