When asked about their likes and dislikes about their school life, they are very sincere. Thirteen of them from different level answer this survey in the halls of Pärnu Kuninga Tänava Põhikool, a basic school that is home to more than 500 students from age 7 to 17.
Lots of students thought that it is really cool that we have different projects like Erasmus+. They love that there are lots of different games they can play at school like basketball, volleyball and football and that there are table tennis in the school yard.
One of the students said there are lots of class trips to different counties and cities that she loves and enjoys very much. Finally, everybody loves the long breaks during which they can move and play outside and spend time with friends.
Lots of students thought that there are too many tests and much homework. They say that teachers give them too much homework and there isn´t much free time. Most of them would like to do everything in class with no extra work to do at home.
On the other hand, some of the students confessed that they don’t like school food. Although there are different options everyday, still some of the students don’t like it.
Particularly, one of the students said that she doesn’t like the use of cell phones till the sixth grade, but the rest of the students still like this school and most things about it.
Many students said that they would change the school’s food because there is constantly the same menu that they don’t like. They also would prefer that the teachers would give less homework because many students do not have time to do it due to having hobbies. Some also said that they would like to have longer breaks because they don’t feel like they have enough time to play and be outside. Finally, a few students complained about having too many tests and that the tests are sometimes harder then the teachers say.
Summarizing, all students are very happy about their school but they would like to improve the food and to have less homework and tests. On the other hand, they love project work, travelling to other countries and knowing new people through Erasmus+ initiatives and the breaks they have to enjoy the outside and the company of their friends.
