ZERO LITTER IN OUR HIGH SCHOOL YARD

We have noticed how much trash is thrown out of the trash cans at our school. So we did a project that consisted of collecting the litter and weighing it to see the amount of garbage that is thrown out of the containers in our schoolyard during recess. After the day we collected garbage, we tried to make people aware of the problem by running a campaign. So we checked how much our actions impact our environment at our school. We explained to all groups the damage that only one person can do to the environment. A few days later, we verified how our actions have impacted the school.

COLLECTING LITTER

WEIGHING IT

We are also trying to bring lunch boxes instead of aluminium paper that is worse for the environment. In addition to this, we are bringing refillable water bottles instead of plastic ones.

WE TURN THIS

A large part of the rubbish we have in our backyard is aluminium foil, so the proposal to use lunch boxes is that they are more environmentally friendly and it is no more difficult to put the snack in a lunch box than to wrap it.

INTO THIS

Our class uses this type of lunch box as a substitute for alumninium foil.

AND THIS

Plastic bottles can usually be found in most rubbish bins.

INTO THIS

So you can use this type of refillable bottles.
