Our action

Last day, we went to our schoolyard to conclude our experiment. We collected the trash in the schoolyard once again and we weighed it. This is what we got:

Yellow bin: (plastic, cartons, cans, plastic or aluminium wraps) 2.7kg

Blue bin: (paper and cardboard) 50g

Green bin: (glass) 0g

Black bin: (others) 200g

Total: 2.95kg

When we first collected rubbish in our schoolyard, we collected 8kg of rubbish and we have reduced it to 2.95kg, a difference of 5.05 kg.

With this project we have raised awareness about litter in our schoolyard by informing our schoolmates with posters, presentations, games and several activities. We have done a huge impact in our school and we have met our goal. We have reduced trash in our schoolyard and it is almost free of litter.

This was how our school yard was, and all the rubbish we found out of the bins:

We show the action we took in this video:

These were the measures we obteined the second time.

You can create an impact too:

Yo can propose the activity we have done during this period of time in your school and you could take action on it too.

You could help to reduce litter produced in your schoolyard by using refillable bottles, reusable containers for meal...

If we all take part into this little project, litter would be reduced in lots of areas, which would help biodiversity.
