Happening: Gnomeo and Juliet (January 8-9th)

After watching the film, compare the story of the film with Shakespeare's work by watching the following video. This activity will be done orally.

Then complete the questionnaire of the film (task 1).

SETMANA 1

Introduction

Presentation of the project: site, groups, roles, drive folder creation...

Timeline (task 2)

In pairs, create, in a poster board, a timeline of Shakespeare's life and events in SPANISH. (Actividad en parejas - CASTELLANO). Complete the information by watching the following videos. In your timeline, there should be 10 events, at least.

Reading of the play (Book reading)

GROUP TASK: read the book "ROMEO AND JULIET". Understand, comment and summarize it.

SETMANA 2

Family Tree (task 3)

Create a Family Tree with the main characters and their relationships. Also you have to include a short description (3-4 sentences) for each of the characters. Check the rubric in Google Classroom before deliviring your product.

Autobiography(task 4)

Choose a character and write an autobiography. (Activitat individual en català - en paper).

Introduction to Radio and its own language.

Radio theory: beginnings, functions and genres.
Radio language:
- Elements of narrative discourse: sound effects, music, silence and voice.
- Sound editing: sound plans and transitions.
- How to make a Technical script.

Once we have learned the theory, it's time to start production!

Production of the radio fiction of Romeo and Juliet.

This is a TEAM task, so the tasks depend on your team ROLE:

Distribution of the scenes and characters. Teachers willl tell you which are your scenes. Then take your books and read your chapters again. Do you remember which part of the story is it? Check the summary you wrote in Catalan.
Also write an opinion/review (en CASTELLANO) of each of the scenes.
Make the Technical script (example 1, example 2). (task 5).

PODCAST STRUCTURE: Your PODCAST should contain three parts: First, a summary of the scene (in CATALAN), the representation of the scene (in ENGLISH) and your opinion/review of that scene (in SPANISH).

All the students MUST participate in all three languages.

SETMANA 3

Production of the radio fiction of Romeo and Juliet.

Continue/finish your Technical script. Deliver it in Google Classroom.
Search, create and use SOUND RESOURCES. Each TEAM has to create 1 FOLEY EFFECT to share with other TEAMS. Make a video of the process. Deliver it in Google Classroom.

Recording

First of all, make sure your Technical script is finished.
Then, prepare yourself to the performance. You all have to act! It is very important that you rehearse (assajar) before the recording.

REMEMBER: All the students MUST participate in all three languages.

Before recording, take a look at the user manuals for the hardware (more info) and software (Audacity, Record voice, tutorial video).
Look at the schedule for recording.

Recording and editing the radio fiction.

This is the last week of the project. Time to finish with your recordings and start editing them. Remember checking the schedule for recording.

To be done:

Finish recording of the scenes
Edit the podcast, including transitions and extra sound effects.

Podcast listening and evaluation.
